There’s something attractive about a used book sale at the local library. But, it’s not the idea of helping out the library (though that is a nice perk) that draws me to the sale.
I would say it’s the chance of finding some rare book, perhaps a book that is no longer published, that is the greatest attraction. So, today I did just that: I spent some time at the local library looking through boxes of old books hoping to find that obscure treasure. Was I successful? I left with a trio of books, including one about the history of Georgia, a topic that fascinates me.
So here’s to the book sale and that distinctive opportunity to buy worn books that all too often no one else wants.
