Looking to bring history to life for your audience?

Whether you’re hosting a civic group, historical society, museum event, or educational program, my presentations offer a dynamic and engaging journey through the rich railroad heritage of Georgia and the American South.

Todd has been called “Georgia’s favorite railroad historian.” He brings decades of research, storytelling, and passion to every talk. These presentations are designed to inform, entertain, and inspire, connecting the past to the present with vivid detail and compelling narratives.

Presentation Topics

“Death on the Rails”: While rail travel improved mobility and opened new markets, it could be, at times, incredibly dangerous. Sadly, train wrecks and mishaps changed the lives of passengers, workers and innocent bystanders.

“People and Places of the Western & Atlantic Railroad”: The Western & Atlantic didn’t just pass through North Georgia; many in the area depended on it for their livelihoods. Whether holding high-profile positions, such as a conductor or meeting one’s spouse because of the streetcar, railroads played a significant role in many lives. This presentation will look at some of the lesser-known railroad stories throughout history.

“Oddities on the Rails”: While many histories center on dates and places, they overlook some funnier, if not downright bizarre, happenings throughout the years. From armed robberies to a duel between long-time friends, some of the most intriguing events to happen in history were plain weird.
