I cannot claim to be a fan of Dolly Parton’s music, but it’s hard to deny her indelible impact on country music and pop culture. What she meant to generations of Americans is more important than any of her chart-topping successes or her selection for enshrinement in the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The world will miss Dolly Parton. The world needs more celebrities like Dolly Parton who use their fame for good to help improve the world around them. If we had that, the world would be a different place, for the better.
